Welcome to the Zapatista Tribal Port Scan ========================================= All copyrights are to the Electronic Disturbance Theater http://www.thing.net/~rdom/ecd/ecd.html This is just a redistribution of the original software by http://zdemo.freeasphost.net with the intention to bring it back to the public conscience. This software is for use on your PC and it allows you to perform a portscan of your localhost. No responsiblity is taken over if this portscan is used with other targets. A port scan is not an crime, nor an attack, nor even a nuisance. It is no different in spirit from counting the windows of a building from a public sidewalk, or observing the number of doors. Installation on Windows: ======================== ZAPATISTA TRIBAL PORT SCAN APP =============================== Runs on all platforms. The App also performs a port scan on target when using a VPN connection for privacy. Instruction below is for Windows systems. 1. Unzip the downloaded ztpsapp.zip Copy the folder ztpsapp to your computer (for example to C:\ drive) 2. Open the File Explorer and locate the file ztps_start.bat inside folder ztpsapp. Create a desktop shortcut for ztps_start.bat 3. It is recommended to start zpts port scan by double click on the desktop shortcut for ztps_start.bat You can skip steps 4-6 if you use ztps_start.bat to start ztps port scan. 4. Open the dos command line by clicking on Start - search field and type "cmd" 5. Change to the path of installation (for example to C:\ztpsapp\) C:\> cd ztpsapp 6. Start the ztps port scan as a java application by typing in cmd: C:\ztpsapp> java ztps 6. By default, the target is "www.rwe.com". To change the target site, simply click in the gray text area, enter a new site, and press Enter (or return). 7. You may also invoke ztps port scan with the following command line arguments: C:\ztpsapp> java ztps Examples: For a port scan of localhost (your computer): C:\ztpsapp> java ztps 127.0.0.1 For a port scan of the Whitehouse webserver: C:\ztpsapp> java ztps www.whitehouse.gov C:\ztpsapp> java ztps www.whitehouse.gov mymessages.txt 8. can be a web address (URL) or an IP address of the target server. To find out the target IP of for example www.google.com, type in the command line: C:\ztpsapp> ping www.google.com What is Zapatista Tribal Port Scan doing? ========================================= The Zapatista Tribal Port Scan uses the Java Virtual Machine available in all standard web browsers to implement the port scan. The participating user simply visits the web site URL of a ZTPS implementation, and the scanning begins. Designed to be opened in a smallish browser window and minimized for all day scanning at home, work, or school, the ZTPS applet will scan a random port on a particular machine, from once per minute to once per hour, selectable by the user. Using both TCP and UDP socket connections, ZTPS may be configured to randomly select from a list of text messages, some of which may be logged by targeted machines. (Messages flying over the fence.) A download button in the applet interface makes it easy for users to download the ready-made software, and full source code for their own purposes. ZTPS effectiveness improves with the number of participating user/activists, so collective participation, as always, is very important. _____________________________________ ::: |/|=|°|°|=|>/\(~(°|=|°|\| ::: ::: |\|=|_|_|=|\/\~)~)|=|_|\| ::: _____________________________________
